Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Kansas is seeking a Part Time Night shift patient care technician. The position assists in delivering patient care under a licensed nurse, records vital signs in the EMR, and follows department policies to ensure safety and quality.

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification; CNA/CPCT/A/EMT are preferred. Responsibilities include proper PPE use, CDC guidelines compliance, accurate documentation, and contributing to a clean, safe patient

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv is required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience is preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification is required; CNA/CPCT/A and EMT are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the EMR.
• Documents and reports all procedures per department policy.
• Performs duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and supports quality initiatives.
• Follows isolation guidelines, uses PPE properly, and upholds safety regulations.
• Desires ongoing skill development and learning.

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record.
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.
