Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 2 South Oncology unit. This full-time night shift role supports patient care under a nurse's supervision, assists with admissions/discharges, and upholds safety practices for patients with cancer and related conditions.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification within 90 days. CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Navy Hospital Corps School completion are among acceptable credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• One of the listed care certifications or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT/Navy Hospital Corps School is accepted.

Responsibilities

Our unit works with all cancers, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma treatment, radiation, gynecologic cancers, hematologic disorders, end of life patients. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
