The Patient Care Technician position on the Hospital Internal Medicine unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, directly impacting patient comfort and outcomes.
Ideal candidates must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.
The unit is a 31-bed intermediate care medical oncology unit caring for adult and geriatric patients, primarily with solid tumor cancers such as colorectal, gastrointestinal, and lung cancers.

Essential Job Functions: Acts as a member of a multidisciplinary team to identify and address patient care needs. Assists with activities of daily living, mobilization, admissions/discharges, and vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment. Acts as part of an assigned care team.
**Education:** High school diploma or equivalent.
**Preferred:** One year of patient care experience.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required by Human Resources.
