Qualifications

  • Preferred completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing.
  • Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position: Patient Care Tech

Location: Evanston Hospital

Part-time: 24 hours per week

Hours: PM shift (3pm-11:30pm) with rotating weekends

What you will do:
  • Perform duties involving mental, visual, auditory attention, and manual dexterity.
  • Assess patients visually and read/record charts accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare team, and coworkers, even with masks.
  • Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, chemicals, and hazardous conditions.
  • Work under pressure to meet patient care needs.
  • Utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for non-emergency transfers.
  • Assist with lifting up to 50 pounds in urgent situations.
  • Wear PPE such as N95 masks or PAPR when applicable.
  • Engage in sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout shifts.
What you will need:
  • Eligibility to work in the US
  • Preferred completion of an accredited CNA training course
  • Preferred completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association; if not current, must obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, prioritization, and following directions
  • Basic computer skills
