Job summary

Lower Keys Medical Center in Florida is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. The role supports daily living activities, ensures a safe environment, and facilitates effective communication within the care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with basic nursing tasks, recording vital signs, helping with meals and hygiene, mobility assistance, urine/stool sample collection, and glucose monitoring.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety protocols

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Records vital signs and reports findings to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assists with meals, bathing, grooming, and activities of daily living.
• Aids mobility with walkers, canes, or wheelchairs as needed.
• Performs glucose monitoring and collects urine/stool samples as directed.
• Maintains infection control and safety procedures (PPE).
• Communicates patient information to the care team and supports performance improvement initiatives.
