The University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Vascular & Neuroscience Intermediate & Acute Care Unit (2RC). The 60% rotating position supports adult neurology, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery patients on a 2RC unit with telemetry needs.

The role is based on campus with a merit-based benefits package. Responsibilities include vital signs, aseptic duties, basic diagnostic tasks, admissions/discharges, and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.

Responsabilités

• Independently obtain and record vital signs (temp, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Carries out medical asepsis when performing skills and tasks (phlebotomy, IV removal, Foley removal and cares).
• Performs simple diagnostic/therapeutic procedures (enemas, preop skin prep, dressing changes, collecting specimens).
• Assists with patient admission, transfers, discharges; provides for personal hygiene and comfort.
