Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care through delegated basic nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under RN supervision, the PCT assists in patient care, maintains a safe environment, and complies with hospital policies and state regulations.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing nursing care plans and performing direct and indirect patient care.
• Recording patient information such as vital signs, intake/output, and other data.
• Assisting with mobility, transfers, and discharges, demonstrating proper body mechanics.
• Collecting specimens and ensuring label accuracy and timely transfer.
• Helping patients with daily activities and maintaining cleanliness.
• Serving as Monitor/Telemetry Tech as needed.
• Engaging in evidence-based practices to enhance safety and communication.

Qualifications:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
