Summary:

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active CPR certification upon hire or within seven days if enrolled in the PCT internship, prior to patient contact.
• Minimum experience requirements include:
• 6 months acute care experience, or
• 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience, or
• completion of a BayCare EAYL PCT Internship, or
• completion of Nursing Fundamentals (RN) or Nursing Foundation (LPN) Programs, or
• EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only, or
• completion of an approved PCT or Nursing Assistant program.
• Note: If a non-approved PCT Program is completed, BayCare PCT Bootcamp completion is required.
• Preferred: 1 year hospital-related experience.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical certifications in Patient Care Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, or equivalent experience are required.

Credentials:

• Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Patient Care Technician certification if applicable.
• Preferred: EMT certification.
