Below, you'll find other important information about this position.This position performs nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care activities including personal, physical and comfort needs of patients, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. This position will provide high-quality patient care in coordination with licensed medical staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

1. Prior patient care experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Observes and reports all patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.

2. Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.

3. Records the vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures. Records oral intake and outputs (temperature, blood pressure and other monitoring).

4. Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.

5. Assists in indirect patient care by maintaining a clean and safe environment to help prevent and/or control infections and to provide for safety of patients, visitors and employees.

6. Reports all necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel according to departmental procedure in a timely manner.

7. Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.

8. Communicates with RN regarding any nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or verbalized lack of understanding of diet changes.

10. Assists department with administrative tasks to support the department operations.

11. Answers patient call bell and relays message to appropriate personnel

Additional Job Description:

Benefit eligible employees classified as at least a 0.5 FTE are eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, tuition programs, retirement, paid time off and a wellness program.

Wage Scale: $15.68/hour - $23.51/hour

Position is eligible for shift differentials based on shift worked and eligible for overtime pay for hours over 40 hours per week.
