Job summary

Endeavor Health in Glenview, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician - Medical ICU to join our day shift team. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting with vital signs, 12-Lead EKGs, and daily patient activities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care under RN supervision
• Assist with vital signs and 12-Lead EKG
• Assist with bladder ultrasound and Foley catheter/IV care
• Assist with bathing, mobility, and hourly rounding
• Assist with admission and discharge procedures
• Support implementation of patient care plans
• Contribute to safety and patient experience

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Medical ICU
• Location: Glenbrook, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Full time, 36 hours/week
• Hours: 7am-7:30pm (Day shift), Rotating weekends
• Required Travel: No
• First week orientation: Monday-Friday (Day shift) - Required

What you will do

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure)
• Assist with 12-Lead EKG
• Assist with Bladder Ultrasound
• Assist with Foley catheter and IV adapter removal
• Assist with sterile specimen collection
• Assist with bathing, beds, ambulating, turning
• Assist with hourly rounding
• Assist with blood glucose, feeding
• Admit patients to room
• Prepare patients for discharge
• Perform any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contribute to safety outcomes and promote high quality patient experience

What you will need

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
