Job summary

St. David's Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join a collaborative nursing team in Med Surg. You will assist with vital signs, mobility, and daily patient care while supporting RNs with care plans and safety.

The role emphasizes empathy, teamwork, and excellent communication to restore comfort and dignity for patients each day.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keeping patient areas clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
