St. David’s Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses with hands-on care, vital signs, and daily living assistance in a dynamic ED setting in Austin, TX. The role emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, safety, and teamwork to uphold high-quality care.

The PCT will assist with mobility, comfort, and routine tasks, while contributing to infection control and efficient unit operations within our Magnet-designated hospital.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
