PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN- MED/SURG- PERTH AMBOY- F/T- DAY

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care tailored to physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-related needs.
  • Ensure effective and safe patient outcomes through professional judgment and critical actions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with patients and the healthcare team regarding patient status and care.
  • Take initiative to exceed job expectations, improve performance, and create opportunities.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary planning from admission to discharge for seamless care transition.
  • Engage in unit/department performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized CNA, Medical Assistant, PCT program, or equivalent medical experience (e.g., EMT, Home Health Aide, CMA, MA, PCT, Nursing Assistant).
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing needs, and demonstrate accountability, teamwork, ongoing education, and patient-focused care.

Preferred:

  • Experience or certification in phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, or blood sugar testing.
  • At least one year of hospital PCT or CNA experience or eligibility for the HMH PCT apprenticeship program.
  • Completion of a PCT program including Phlebotomy, EKG, and nursing assistant courses.

Certifications

  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 60 days of hire.
