Job Overview

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with personal hygiene, including bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, and changing linens
• Helping patients with mobility, repositioning, and transfers
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Documenting important information in patient charts
• Providing compassionate care, including support for patients nearing the end of life

This role involves exposure to bodily fluids and dynamic and sensitive situations. If you’re compassionate, resilient, and detail-oriented, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring quality care and making a real difference in our patients' lives.

Unit Description

The Medical/Surgical, Telemetry Unit is a 45-bed unit located on the third floor at Deaconess Henderson. Care is provided via an interdisciplinary process 24/7 to adult in-patients and observation patients. Diagnoses include, but are not limited to: diabetes, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, CHF, post-MI, CVA, GI, and post-surgery.

Requirements: Certifications/Licenses/Education

• Basic Life Support: Healthcare Provider, within six months of hire
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• Completion of PCT classes as required by the care center/unit
