Under the direction of the team leader and the Registered Nurse, and in partnership with the healthcare team and patient/family, performs work processes to achieve positive patient outcomes and organizational goals. The focus of care includes psychosocial support and activities of daily living.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cares for patients demonstrating clinical competence in implementing a plan of care. Maintains basic technician skills, such as obtaining vital signs, performing dressing changes, wound care, catheterizations, and EKGs as required in the specific work area. Reports observations, including any change in patient status, to the Registered Nurse promptly and accurately.
  • Performs interventions to enhance psychosocial support.
  • Provides care supporting physical functions for activities of daily living, such as toileting, bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
  • Documents care provided according to hospital and unit-specific guidelines immediately after performing procedures or tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
  • Prior experience in direct patient care preferred. CENA training preferred. Relevant clinical nursing rotations can also provide applicable experience.
