Under the direction of the team leader and the Registered Nurse, and in partnership with the healthcare team and patient/family, performs work processes to achieve positive patient outcomes and organizational goals. The focus is on psychosocial support and activities of daily living.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cares for patients with clinical competence, including vital signs, dressing changes, wound care, catheterizations, and EKGs as required. Reports changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse promptly.
• Performs interventions to support psychosocial well-being.
• Assists with activities of daily living such as toileting, bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Documents care provided accurately and promptly according to hospital and unit guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

• Prior experience in direct patient care preferred. CENA training preferred. Relevant clinical nursing rotation experience is also valuable.
