Position Summary

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LPN, assists with patients' activities of daily living and supports the plan of care. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families while maintaining high professional standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Perform technical duties including vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care, documenting appropriately.
  • May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
  • Identify and report changes in patient status to RN/LPN and respond accordingly.
  • Reinforce patient and family education on care and safety.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and quality improvement activities.
  • Assist in orienting new staff members.
Qualifications
  • Basic patient care skills, procedures, and standards knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a PCT course, fundamentals nursing course in RN program, CNA program, or equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Phlebotomy training/education required for Emergency Department positions.
