Job summary

TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN, seeks a Lead Patient Care Technician to mentor and lead the nursing team while delivering hands-on patient care. You’ll supervise, train, and support staff, assist with procedures, monitor vitals, and ensure compassionate, high‑quality care across shifts.

The role emphasizes leadership, patient advocacy, and collaboration with nursing leadership to improve care delivery and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with ADLs, mobility support, vital sign checks, specimens collection, procedure prep, and telemetry monitoring as needed
• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating updates to the nursing team for coordinated care
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment by infection prevention, equipment setup, and ensuring supplies are stocked
• Responding to patient needs through rounds and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust
• Training new team members and sharing updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Lead Patient Care Tech, you’ll be an integral part of the nursing team, delivering compassionate care that impacts patients’ lives every day. You’ll provide hands‑on patient care, assist with advanced procedures, and help guide and mentor and support the growth of new and experienced patient care tech staff.

Your responsibilities will include

• Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), supporting mobility and comfort, checking vital signs, collecting specimens, preparing for procedures, and monitoring telemetry as needed
• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating important updates to the nursing team to ensure coordinated, timely care
• Helping maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices, setting up and caring for equipment, and ensuring needed supplies are ready
• Responding to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust
• Training new team members, sharing updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care

What qualifications you will need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
