Position Details

  • Shift: Day Shift (12 hours)
  • Schedule: 24-40 hours within a 4-week period
  • Training: Initial training will be full-time

Position Summary

Delivers direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgments or administration of medications, including phlebotomy and EKG. Training will be provided to work in CPEP.

The patient care technician is accountable for the care they provide and adheres to hospital standards of care and practice.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; medical background, mechanical aptitude, and manual dexterity preferred.
  • Participation in orientation and ongoing education; maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
  • Completes population-specific competency annually, as identified in scope of care and service.
Requirements
  • Current BLS/CPR certification and First Aid training.
  • Work environment includes office/clinical setting with exposure class I.
  • Physical demands include standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying heavy work.
