Job summary

MUHA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in delivering patient-centered care. The role involves measuring vital signs, assisting with daily patient needs, and monitoring patients on cardiac equipment as directed.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will help maintain clean rooms, restock supplies, and provide compassionate support. BLS is required and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or CNA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required on hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with everyday needs (hygiene, restroom, grooming).
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist nursing staff with basic treatments.
• Ensure adequate patient care supplies and clean linens.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor as directed.
• Assist with drains, ostomies, Foley bags, and blood sugar checks.
• Support department leaders and care team as needed.
