The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
Hours per week: 36
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 3 12-hour rotating shifts per week, including weekends and holidays
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Hourly
The Patient Care Tech II reports to the Nurse Manager. Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. One year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or Paramedic certification, Bachelor's Degree or enrollment in a healthcare-related program with successful completion of relevant courses preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 weeks of hire. Must maintain current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors/outdoors, working in confined spaces, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, grasping, manipulating, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and visual and auditory acuity. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, in a latex-safe environment, and handle stressful situations.
