The Clinical Care Technician functions under the direct supervision of a professional nurse. He/she performs specific duties and is considered an integral part of the nursing team. They assist nurses in gathering information and making observations regarding patient conditions. Under the direction of the RN, they provide care to patients on the unit, including taking vital signs, EKGs, performing phlebotomy, and assisting with bedside care such as bathing, mouth care, and skin care.
