Job summary

Baptist Health Care seeks a Patient Care Technician II for the Gulf Breeze Medical Unit. Under supervision, you assist nursing staff, interact with patients, help with hygiene, vital signs, and mobilization, and coordinate with physicians and departments.

You maintain documentation, handle receptionist duties, manage supplies, and support the care team to promote patient safety and comfort; a High School diploma and BLS are required, with 6 months healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 6 months experience in a healthcare related field or actively enrolled in a pre-nursing or nursing program.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ambulating and mobilization of patients and take/record vital signs (BP, Temp, Pulse, Respirations, O2 sat).
• Weigh patients; assist with personal hygiene and AM care; bedpan/toileting; catheter care; drain management; turning and linen changes.
• Assist with meals, feeding, I&O, light cleaning, and organize patient rooms; respond to call lights and relay information to the nurse.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of data collected and assist with clerical duties for the healthcare team.
• Receive and direct phone calls; serve as department receptionist; maintain supplies/inventory.
• Use computer system to locate orders, retrieve patient information, print census; follow downtime procedures; operate order communications.
