Job Description Summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Job Summary/Purpose

The PCT II supports patient care activities under RN supervision, focusing on a patient-centered approach to achieve health outcomes.

Minimum Training and Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of healthcare experience preferred, along with relevant certifications or enrollment in healthcare programs with completed foundational courses.

Certifications and Licensure

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 2 weeks of hire; ongoing maintenance of BLS certification is mandatory.

Physical and Other Requirements

Must perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various environments and conditions. Visual, auditory, and tactile sensory functions must be maintained. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in a latex-safe environment is required.
