GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role provides direct patient care and assists with unit coordination. Responsibilities include basic nursing procedures, respecting patient dignity and privacy, adhering to hospital policies, responding to emergencies, maintaining the environment, documenting care, and supporting unit activities such as admissions, discharges, and transfers. The worker operates under supervision of RNs and follows specific work assignments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide and document patient care activities such as vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and more. (50%)
  2. Participate in quality initiatives and maintain safety protocols. (20%)
  3. Accurately document all patient data and report changes to nursing staff. (15%)
  4. Assist with unit activities like supply stocking and equipment cleaning. (15%)
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High School/GED
  • Experience in healthcare or related military service
  • 1 year in an acute or long-term care setting or enrolled in nursing program
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficient in phlebotomy and straight catheterization
  • CPR certification
  • Clearances: Act 34, Act 33, Act 73
