Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Patient Care Technician II (PRN) to join our Acute Care team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and help achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications include at least 1 year of relevant patient care experience or nursing/healthcare enrollment, plus BLS certification within two weeks of hire and ongoing.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year work experience in a .6fte PCT I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 2 weeks of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform multi-skilled activities to support decentralized, patient-centered care.
• Assist with basic patient care tasks and care coordination under nursing leadership.

Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year work experience in a .6fte PCT I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution; or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training. Credentials: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
