Job Description

The Patient Care Tech II reports to the Nurse Manager. Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT II performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Job Summary/Purpose

The PCT II supports a decentralized patient-centered approach to care, performing multi-skilled activities under supervision to assist in achieving patient care outcomes.

Minimum Training and Education

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. One year of patient care experience preferred. Certifications such as CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or enrollment in a healthcare program with relevant coursework are advantageous.

Certifications and Licensure

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 2 weeks of hire and must be maintained thereafter, from AHA or Red Cross.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and working in various environments. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, and performing fine and gross motor activities. Good vision and hearing are required, along with the ability to handle stressful situations and work rotating shifts.
