Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Inpatient Medical Surgical unit on the night shift. The role supports nursing staff by taking vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, admissions, discharges, and patient transfers.

A strong emphasis is placed on patient comfort and safe care delivery. Required is a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of experience in a related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient care (v/s, I&O's, heights, weights, head circumference, ADL's) as delegated by licensed nursing staff.
• Documents patient care and other assignments according to department guidelines.
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge as directed by licensed staff.
• Communicates patient/family information to health care team members to tailor the care plan.
• Acts as courier between departments to meet daily unit needs.
• Performs clerical duties such as receptionist duties and supply management as needed.
• Ensures patient supplies and equipment are organized, clean, and stocked for patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
