Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care to support the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients in our units.

The role works within a unit-based, self-directed patient care team and collaborates with licensed and non-licensed colleagues. Required credentials include AHA BLS, CNA on the Georgia Registry, CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA) and at least one year of acute patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry
• Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

REQUIRED

1. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry
3. Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
4. Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
5. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
6. One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

PREFERRED

1. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
