Compensation:
Pay Range: $15.50- $19.50 / hour

The Interventional Cardiovascular Unit (ICVU) is a 32-bed step-down unit that provides care to patients with general cardiology diagnoses and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), as well as before and after surgical procedures within the UAB Heart & Vascular Center. This unit features a dynamic atmosphere for nurses to advance their critical thinking skills and technical expertise in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment. ICVU is part of the UAB Cardiovascular Institute, which is consistently ranked among the nation’s top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for ventricular assist devices and Advanced Primary Heart Attack Center designation demonstrates UAB Medicine’s commitment to the highest quality care and safety standards.

Job Description:
To assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN for the hospital. To obtain and record vitals, weight, inputs and outputs. To successfully complete an in-house PCT training program. To demonstrate an awareness of patient and personal safety.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within thirty (30) days of employment.
