Job Description
Work Schedule: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am (3x12 hr shifts)
Under the supervision of professional nursing staff, provides direct patient care. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, checking surgical dressings, assisting patients with activities of daily living, performing blood draws, and collecting specimen samples. Observes and records patient data, communicates patient status, and collaborates as part of the interdisciplinary care team.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following are general duties and are not exhaustive:
- Perform testing and manage patient care based on clinical findings and test results.
- Record patient activities, including ADLs such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
- Document vital signs and pain levels accurately.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
- Promote patient safety, including fall prevention and maintaining a safe environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in patient rooms and work areas, and manage supplies.
- Provide post-mortem care as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to execute the plan of care and report changes.
- Ensure patient comfort and manage pain effectively.
- Monitor and document dietary intake, urinary and stool output, and patient weight.
- Conduct urinary catheter care, including application and removal of external devices.
- Monitor blood glucose levels.
- Provide wound care and report skin integrity issues.
- Assist in specimen collection, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
- Care for orthopedic and rehab devices, including braces and splints.
- Participate in hourly patient rounding and respond to alarms.
- Follow safety protocols and report adverse events or near misses.
- Use safe lifting techniques and improve patient flow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
