Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support our medical team by assisting with daily living activities for patients. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, helping patients with mobility, and supporting their overall healthcare needs. Ideal candidates will possess a High School Diploma/GED, a caring attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively in a healthcare setting.

Job Description

Responsible for assisting doctors/nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include things like feeding and cleaning the patient or monitoring vital signs and health.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
2. Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
3. Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
4. Performs post mortem care
5. Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
6. Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN
7. Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory
8. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma/GED

Qualifications/Requirements:

BLS preferred
Prior acute care experience preferred
Must be passionate and caring about patient care.
Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and be a team player.
Prior acute care strongly preferred
BLS strongly preferred
