Job Description

Under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, performs a variety of routine duties to assist the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. As a direct care staff, the technician spends the majority of his or her time interacting with, assisting, and supporting our patients. Along with ensuring a safe environment, this position develops with each individual a therapeutic relationship which is critical in the healing process.

Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide direct care to patients in collaboration with licensed personnel.
  2. Performs all responsibilities/duties required by patient care services, as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the patients are addressed.
  3. Assumes clerical duties necessary to assist the healthcare team to provide patient care.
  4. Receives and directs phone calls and serves as the receptionist for the department.
  5. Maintains supplies/inventory for department.
  6. Operates a variety of office equipment effectively.
  7. Maintains current knowledge/certification.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Licenses and Certifications

  1. BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Required

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Effective communication skills. (High proficiency)
  2. Basic computer knowledge.
  3. Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
  4. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  5. Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  6. Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  7. Excellent organizational skills required. (High proficiency)
  8. Knowledge of acceptable ranges of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and EKG. (Medium proficiency)
  9. Ability to document and utilize electronic health record applications.
  10. Empathy and excellent listening skills. (High proficiency)
  11. Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information.
