The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under professional nursing staff's direction. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and participating in patient care teams. This entry-level position requires current CNA/GNA certification and a high school diploma. The compensation range is between $17 and $29.14 per hour, depending on qualifications.
Under the direction of professional nursing staff, provides direct patient care. Takes vital signs, checks dressings, aids patients with activities of daily living, leads therapeutic groups, maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment on the unit, escorts patients during admissions, discharges, and procedures within the hospital, and performs other duties as assigned. This role also performs blood draws and collects specimen samples. Observes and collects data to communicate the patient’s status, identify needs, and provide necessary care. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care services team.
