Job Summary

The Patient Care Tech I assists the nursing staff by performing assigned duties for patients and staff under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Duties include secretarial functions and NA I skills.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; or completion of third year in the AA Early College Program with transcripts provided to HR.
• Nurses Aide I certificate registered with the North Carolina Department of Facilities Services.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• At least one year of experience in an acute care setting, preferred as a unit secretary or Nurse Aide I.
• Ability to organize confidential clerical and patient care responsibilities, maintaining workflow despite interruptions.
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Knowledge of care principles suitable for patients' ages and the ability to assess and interpret patient data.
• Current BLS certification.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service aligning with CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
