Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist nurses and physicians in delivering safe, efficient patient care. This role includes ADL support, vital signs monitoring, and maintaining a clean, prepared care environment.

Under RN supervision, you will document care activities, operate within department throughput, and participate in ongoing education. High school diploma preferred; BCLS certification required; EMT/SRNA preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• SRNA or EMT preferred.
• BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
• Ability to think critically, judge situations quickly and work with minimal supervision in a high-stress environment.
• Ability to learn and navigate multiple software systems.
• Effective English communication (read/write/speak).
• Complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake/output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
• Observe and promptly report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
• Manage the tech desk and support department throughput.
• Document care and activities per unit standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned; participate in performance improvement and required education.
