Job summary

Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, safety, and mobility, and participating in teaching with patients and families.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, CN A certification (preferred), and 1–2 years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred; EMT/Medical Assistant considered.
• GUH training program completion required.
• 1–2 years CNA or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements the patient plan of care as directed by the RN and reports findings.
• Provides direct bedside care including activities of daily living and mobility assistance.
• Performs routine sterile and non-sterile treatments per policy (IV care, wound care, catheters, etc.).
• Participates in patient/family teaching as directed.
• Files and records information in medical records or computerized systems per guidelines.
• Maintains a safe and orderly patient/unit environment.
• Assists with unit operations, stocking and inventory as needed.
