Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, data collection, and maintaining a safe care environment.

The ideal candidate has 0–2 years in acute care or is enrolled in a nursing program, with BCLS certification and CNA/CPCT preferred. Willingness to follow procedures and collaborate with the health care team is essential.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant preferred or CPCT - Certified Patient Care Technician preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Collects and records patient data including vital signs, height, weight, oxygen saturation, intake/output and calories.
• Supports patients with meals, feeding, bathing, oral care, grooming, linen changes and urinary catheter care.
• Assists with patient positioning, ambulation and use of mobility aids.
• Collects urine and stool samples and performs blood glucose monitoring, reporting results to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Communicates patient information effectively to the care team and adheres to infection control.
