Overview

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) assists in providing care and comfort for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include recording observations, assisting with daily activities, and supporting department functions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with RNs and healthcare team to achieve patient care outcomes.
• Accurately record data in the EMR and perform tasks as directed by RNs.
• Assist with activities of daily living and medication transport.
• Maintain safety awareness and incorporate the Comfort/C.A.R.E. model.

Communication

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members verbally and in writing.
• Document in EMR in real-time, ensuring accuracy and safety during hand-offs.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to complete a basic computer course on EMR.
