A leading cancer treatment center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide essential services to patients. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a safe environment under the direction of a registered nurse. Candidates must have a high school diploma; previous patient care experience is preferred but not required. The position requires evening/night shifts with rotations on weekends and holidays.
Patient Care Technician – G19E Lymphoma
Shift: Evening/Night. 7PM – 7AM, 11PM – 7AM, 3PM – 11PM.
Four shifts per week. A combination of 2 twelve and 2 eight hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.
SUMMARY
Function: Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.
Scope: Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
Essential Job Functions:
·Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs.
·Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs.
·Updates and retrieves patient information.
·Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
·Acts as part of an assigned care team.
·Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION
Received: Directly from a registered nurse.
Given: None.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Education Preferred: None.
Experience Required: None
Experience Preferred: Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant
Licensure/Certification Required: None.
Licensure/Certification Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Other Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
