Job Summary

With a commitment to patient and family centered care, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides designated direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction and supervision of the licensed clinical team members. The role values the uniqueness of each individual and addresses the physiological, emotional, and social needs of the diverse patients served by Jefferson Health.

Essential Functions

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
• Recognizes patients and their families/designated care partners to provide safe, compassionate, and coordinated care respecting personal preferences, priorities, needs, and cultural beliefs.
• Communicates effectively with the interprofessional team, patients, families, and care partners.
• Performs designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient needs under supervision of licensed clinical team members.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• May serve as a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus requirements.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred:

• Completion of a PCT training program within 24 months of hire.
• Nursing students with at least one semester of clinical completed.

AND

Experience: Previous nursing assistant or healthcare experience preferred.

Certifications, Registration, or License Requirements

AHA BLS Certification required.
