Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit. This unlicensed role works under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated nursing tasks during the 7:00 AM–7:00 PM day shift.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and may hold CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Sentara Care Partner Certification. Relevant EMR/EMS training or ongoing clinical studies are valuable for success.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent required.
• Completion of CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Sentara Care Partner Certification program is acceptable.
• EMR/EMS/paramedical training or current clinical program enrollment is considered.
• Experience as PCT or nursing assistant within the last 3 years is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver delegated nursing care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Perform tasks such as blood draws, EKGs, Foley care and I/O recording.
• Support care for adults 18+ including seniors in Medicine Unit.
