Job summary

Beverly Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool on a per diem basis to provide essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

You will perform basic nursing tasks, monitor vitals, assist with daily activities, and help ensure patient comfort and safety. The role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and compassionate care within a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read and write and perform basic arithmetic.
• Basic computer skills and medical terminology preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Vital signs, height, and weight measurements.
• Oxygen saturation monitoring and reporting unusual observations.
• Collect specimens for analysis and record intake/output.
• Provide patient personal care and assist with daily activities.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under RN supervision.
• Assist with nutrition and room service, meal trays, and feeding.

Patient Care Technician - Float Pool, Per Diem Job Description:

If you are a caretaker at heart, consider joining the Beverly Hospital team as a Nursing Assistant under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide basic patient care activities in providing for the personal needs, comfort and safety of your patients.

Position Summary:

The Nursing Assistant will provide basic care activities and provide personal needs, comfort and safety of your patient. The Nursing Assistant assists with the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The primary responsibility will be focus on performing technical, therapeutic, administrative tasks and procedures for which they have been trained. The Nursing Assistant must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a patient care team as a multi-skilled caregiver responsible for quality of own work and remain flexible in response to change.

Examples of tasks to be completed:

• Vital Signs Height and Weight
• Oxygen Saturation Reporting all unusual observations to the nurse
• Collecting various specimens for analysis
• Recording and measuring intake and output
• Providing patient with personal care and assisting with daily activities
• Performing basic clinical procedures independently or under the supervision of the RN
• Provide nutritional needs including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays and feeding.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent required Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional Basic computer skills (preferred) Medical terminology (preferred) Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Certification/License:

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $19.50 - $26.24 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
