Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team in a full-time night role. The incumbent will provide basic patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with daily activities, and support RNs in delivering quality care.

The position includes opportunities to work with a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, documentation, and basic procedures, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math.
• Basic computer skills encouraged; BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs including height, weight, and oxygen saturation.
• Report unusual observations to the nurse promptly.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living for patients.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under RN supervision.
• Assist with meals, room service, and feeding as needed.

The Patient Care Technician assists with the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The primary responsibility will be focus on performing technical, therapeutic, administrative tasks and procedures for which they have been trained. The Patient Care Technician must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a patient care team as a multi-skilled caregiver responsible for quality of own work and remain flexible in response to change.**Job Description:****ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):*** Vital Signs* Height and Weight* Oxygen Saturation* Reporting all unusual observations to the nurse* Collecting various specimens for analysis* Recording and measuring intake and output* Providing patient with personal care and assisting with daily activities* Performing basic clinical procedures independently or under the supervision of the RN* Provide nutritional needs including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays and feeding.**QUALIFICATIONS:****Education/Experience**:* High School Diploma or equivalent required* Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math* Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional* Basic computer skills (preferred)* Medical terminology (preferred)* Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.**Certification/License:** CNA Certification preferred but not required upon hire\\*\\* Every other weekend, every other holiday.**Pay Range:**$19.50 – $26.24The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
