Job summary

Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a compassionate healthcare technician to support patient care during the evening shift. Responsibilities include taking vitals, drawing blood, performing EKGs, preparing exam rooms, and sterilizing equipment.

Qualified candidates will have a state-certified program completion, a high school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of a technician or hospital program and EKG/Phlebotomy/BLS certification. At least one year of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of State Certified Program and High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technician program or hospital program.
• EKG/Phlebotomy/BLS Certification required
• Minimum of one year experience required
• OHS FIT TEST

Responsibilities

• Take and record height/weight, health history, and vital signs including blood pressure and blood drawing and EKGs.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
• Assist in clerical procedures such as scheduling patients and answering phones.
• Performs routine tests such as urinalysis, blood sugar and hematocrit
