Job Description - Patient Care Technician - Emergency Dept - 40HR Evening Flex Shift 3p-11:30p (250946)

Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the registered nurse.
  2. Implement components of the care plan, including procedures related to basic human, mental health, and social needs.
  3. Ensure patient comfort, safety, and emergency measures.
  4. Assist with activities of daily living, personal care, nutrition, fluid needs, and elimination needs.
  5. Measure vital signs, perform ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, capillary blood glucose testing.
  6. Perform duties related to Unit Secretary, Patient Transport, and Environment of Care.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  2. Successful completion of Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation, EMT training, or Nursing student with satisfactory clinical rotation (Required)
  3. 1 Year experience in a related patient care role (Preferred)
  4. BLS - Basic Life Support certification (Required)
