Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Emergency Department at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview. This full-time night position runs 7pm–7:30am with rotating weekends.

You will support patient flow, assist with transfers and vital signs, and maintain safety by using PPE. CNA training and BLS are preferred; excellent teamwork and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US.
• CNA training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation preferred.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association; must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and the ability to prioritize.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Manage flow of work and duties with attention and manual dexterity.
• Assess patients and read/record charts with adequate visual acuity.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare team; use PPE as required.
• Assist with safe patient movement and transfers; lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Work under pressure to meet patient care needs in a clinical environment.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Patient Care Tech - Emergency Department-Night

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Tech
• Location: Glenbrook Hospital
• Full-time: 36 hours per week
• Hours: Night shift(7pm-7:30am) w/ rotating weekends

What you will do:

• Flow of work and character of duties involves normal mental, visual, auditory attention much or all of the time with manual dexterity is required for sustained periods of time.
• Requires visual acuity adequate to assess patients and read/record patient charts.
• Requires auditory acuity adequate to converse with patients, members of the healthcare team and coworkers who are wearing masks.
• Potential for exposure to blood, body fluids and other potentially infectious materials, chemicals and other hazardous conditions which may pose a health risk.
• Able to work under pressure to meet patient care needs.
• When in the clinical environment, must utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for patient-lifting and transfers when the transfer is a non-emergency situation.
• In an urgent event, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
• When applicable, wear an N95 mask/PAPR and other PPE.
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting throughout the shift.

What you will need:

• Eligible to work in the US
• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association If BLS certification is not current or does not have certification, required to be obtained within the employee's introductory period (within 90 days of hire date)
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
