Qualifications

  • Completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire if required.

Patient Care Technician - Elmhurst Emergency Department - Night Shift

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position: Patient Care Technician

Location: Elmhurst Hospital

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Hours: Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM), rotating holidays and weekends

Required Travel: No

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks necessary to ensure the care, comfort, and safety of patients.

What you will need:
  • Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Preferred Certification: EMT-B Certification
  • Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course, or minimum six months of previous patient care experience, or completion of one nursing clinical rotation, or successful completion of EMT-B course
  • Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire if required by the department
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize, ability to follow directions, teamwork orientation
