Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Pembroke Pines, Florida seeks a patient care assistant to work under the supervision of an RN. You will perform basic patient care tasks, monitor vital signs, assist with phlebotomy and EKG testing, and record intake and output.

You will help keep patient rooms stocked and clean, assist with activities of daily living, transport patients as needed, and communicate changes to nursing staff.

Qualifications

• No degree or other education earned (Required).
• BLS certifications from American Heart Association / Red Cross are required.
• EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six months of hire.
• Three months of patient care experience or completion of a formal training program is required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform basic patient care activities (vital signs, monitoring) and EKG testing, phlebotomy, and glucose measurements.
• Assist with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly; support activities of daily living.
• Assist with transporting patients and report changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
