• 6 months experience in Acute Care/Hospital, PCT or CNA work, or 1 year in Skilled Nursing Facility.
• Required Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of an RN or LPN in surgical or therapy teams.
• Involves pre-op/post-op patient care and support duties in various medical teams.

**Position Description:** Patient Care Technician

**Positions details:**

· **Location:** Morton Plant Hospital Campus – 300-400 Pinellas Street, Clearwater, FL

· Preop Surgical

·PACU - Morton Plant Hosptial or Mease Countryside Hosptial

· **Status:** Full time, Monday through Friday only, No weekends.

· **Day Shifts Only:**

· Pre-op Surgical 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

· PACU - 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM - Part time - Morton Plant Hospital

· 40 hours per week, may vary slightly

· **Status:** Part time, Monday through Friday only, No weekends.

Or,

·PACU - Morton Plant Hospital campus - Part time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 7:30 P.M.

·20 hours per week, may vary slightly

**Qualifications:**

**_Required Experience:_**

+ 6 months – Acute Care/Hospital, PCT or CNA work experience, or

+ 1 year – Skilled Nursing Facility, work experience as Licensed CNA

**_Required Certification:_**

+ Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network)

_Preferred:_

+ 1 year - Hospital PCT or CNA work experience

The Patient Care Technician **–** responsibilities and skills:

Provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN for patients in either a:

· Pre-op or post-op surgical team, or

· Radiation therapy team, or

· Outpatient infusion team
